During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at CHULC quickly realized that they would need to improve timely awareness of, and response to, COVID-19-positive patients. Previously, the CHULC triage team would email or call appropriate staff if there was a suspected case of COVID-19. This caused increased patient anxiety and was not an efficient way to communicate. The team required a method to quietly alert staff of new COVID-19 cases during patient admission and triage.
COVID-19 Notification
“Things are done 10 times faster now, and without noise or nuisance alarms. Staff response time to alarms has decreased from 40 minutes to 15 minutes, meaning a 62.5% decrease. With this solution, we are able to reduce patient and staff anxiety by allowing transparent communication and awareness of COVID cases. Our healthcare professionals are grateful to have such a robust system.”
